Histopathological Effects of Prazosin Drug on Lung of Rats

This study was conducted at the laboratory of histology and anatomy, Faculty Medical Health Techniques/Kufa, post Graduate/ Department biology, Science/University Kufa, The present to investigate effect Prazosin hydrochloride on some organs in male rats (Rattus norvegicus), about 25 mature with average body weight 210-290gram three months age were randomly divided into four groups (5rats / group). first group given orally distilled water as a control other (second, third, fourth) also doses (25, 50,75 mg /kg. b.wt.) daily for period eight weeks. At end treatment (eight weeks), sacrificed, blood samples obtained, lung, spleen. histopathological changes lungs treated prazosin dose mg/kg.b.wt 8-weeks showed emphysema dilation alveoli, hemorrhage distributed inside tissue polymorphic nuclear infiltration due pneumonia, pulmonary artery revealed degenerative tunica media structure (smooth muscle) hyperplasia connective around alveoli. These symptoms which occur 50 75 mg/kg b.wt. well rat lung demonstrate severe hemorrhage, emphysema, thickening wall pneumocyte necrosis (pneumocyte type 1 2), exudate among tissue. Histopathological Spleen doses(50 and75)mg/kg b.w. changes, represented by proliferation white pulp lead fused together destruction components red pulp, stenosis many splenic venous sinuses, germinal show occurs, change nuclei lymphocytes, component pulp.
